Making Flying Ointments

Ointments are easily made, they consist simply of herbs or oils and a base.

THE SHORTENING METHOD
Gently heat four parts shortening over low heat until liquefied. Watch that it doesn’t burn. Add one part dried herbal mixture, blend with a wooden spoon until thoroughly mixed, and continue heating until the shortening has extracted the scent, you’ll smell it in the air.

Strain through cheesecloth into a heat proof container, such as a canning jar. Add one half tsp tincture of benzoin to each pint of the ointment as a natural preservative. Store in a cool, dark place like a refrigerator. Let the mixture sit for two weeks prior to using.

USEING OINTMENTS
Ointments are usually rubbed onto the body to effect various magical changes. When anointing the body with the ointment rub a small amount to your wrist, arches, solar plexus , under arms.

Pintch valerian root
1 drop jasmine oil

CAUTION
Do not use flying ointments if you have a heart problem or serious kidney and liver problems. Do not use ointments containing belladonna if you are allergic to morphine and related opiates or you will have a very serious reaction and need to go to the emergency room. Do not mix with serious medications. Do not use when pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth after using the ointment. Keep away from children and pets. Do not drive or operate machinery while under the effects of a flying ointment. Side effects may include temporary dizziness, fatigue, and blurred vision (the latter especially if the ointment contains belladonna). Give yourself 2-5 hours to recover from the experience and get back to normal. In some cases, it may take 1-2 days to get your normal energy levels back.

Super-charged Black Salt

Black salt is commonly used for absorption of negative energies, which makes it a great addition to protection charms and the like. It’s easy to make your own salt with different charcoals, inks and ashes; however, I’ve learned to charge these materials to my advantage. What you’ll need for your super-charged, protective black salt:

  • Your favorite Protection Sigils
  • Red Paper and/or Red Ink 
  • Protective Herb ashes (I used basil and sandalwood ashes)
  • Lighter and Fire-safe Bowl/ Mortar and Pestle

Draw and charge your sigils individually with your red ink or paper and burn them to activate them. Apply the intent to the service of the salt itself: “this protection will aid the salt in warding negative energies and protecting me/ them” etc.

Once you’ve activated your sigils mix in their ashes with your salt and grind them together until you get a consistent color.

Use this chant I crafted to help focus your intent: “May this salt, black but pure, capture and expunge evil, obscure” 

I made enough for a single spell (and was a bit shy with the amount of ashes I shouldve used) and ended up with a grey-ish mixture. Nonetheless this salt should be supercharged with your intent and ready to use. Do this under the energy of the full moon and you’ve taken your enchantment to the next level. Also, remember to be focused and utilize your intent to really visualize a powerful end result.
