Being out in the pollen filled woods yesterday gave me a little tickle in my throat, so it’s about time to break out the batch of fire tonic I made last Fall. Fire tonic is a mixture of pungent herbs, hot peppers, and apple cider vinegar, used to help open up the sinuses. Let me tell you, it works if you can get it in you. Since I’ve been pretty busy today I thought I’d make a small post and just give y’all my recipe for fire tonic so you can make some for yourself.
Fire Tonic
1 32 oz. bottle apple cider vinegar. I like to use unfiltered, it seems to taste better and it’s easier on the stomach.
5-10 cloves of garlic, crushed
3-5 hot peppers, as hot as you can stand
1 3 inch knob of ginger, crushed
1 medium onion, peeled and diced
¼ c. chopped sage
¼ c. chopped rosemary
¼ c. chopped thyme
¼ c. crushed star anise or green sweetgum balls (sources for shikimic acid which helps fight the flu virus)
Take all of this and combine it in large mason jar, all the herbs and vegetables are going to take up a lot of room. Let this stand in a dark place for about two months. Shake everyday. After it’s finished macerating strain off the liquid, add about a half cup honey, bottle.
I usually wait another month or so before I drink any. It gets better with age. Take a shot of that when you’re feeling congested and it’ll knock it right out.
Made some fire salts today!
You can use these bad boys instead of an open flame/candle or in any spells that need a little extra ‘heat’ (example:love spells and curses).
Ingredients:
2 parts sea salt
1 part cayenne pepper
1 part chili powder
1 part red pepper flakes
Stir in a small pan over low heat to infuse the essence of the heat/forew into the mix.
Store in a container once cool enough to handle. (Recipe credit goes to @pomegranateandivy)
Hi guys, I’m sick and I feel like unfiltered death so I made a quick recipe of get-well rice! Mainly because my stomach can’t handle much else.
INGREDIENTS:
-½ cup white rice (leftover is best, to soak up the liquids)
-1 teaspoon heavy cream or coconut milk
-1 teaspoon butter
-Salt to taste (cleansing, delicious)
-Pinch of turmeric (immune booster, providence and health)
-Pinch of ground ginger (immune booster, warmth, growth, health)
-Pinch of cardamom (luck, luxury and recovery)
-Pinch of mango powder (idk what the fuk it means but it’s delicious)
Stir it all up and microwave for a minute. Best accompanied by green or chai tea, IMPO, but it’s your preference and hydration is always good when you’re sick.
Charge the powder with intent (that’s the important part)
You can burn as incense, use in witch bottles, or keep the powder around for ritual use.
My family and I have been using cedar since I can remember to cleanse our houses of nasty energies and bad spirits. I’m not sure how this incense will smell, but I’m sure cedar will give a nice earthy smell. Also be careful when you are burning home made incense.
Since the Zika virus has started becoming an
issue in the america’s I get daily questions in the pharmacy about where the
mosquito repellent is and where to get some.
Most people are looking for DEET
(N,N-diethyl-meta-toluamide) which in high concentrations does repel up to
90-96% of mosquitoes at the time of application and 70-84% after 4 hours.
However children should not use DEET and while it is claimed to be safe
generally there are still concerns over neurological issues.
Lemon Eucalyptus oil after 4 hour repels up to
82% of mosquitoes. Higher then some DEET formulations. Safe for hoomans of all
ages and natural. Its something I would prefer and recommend for people (if my
store carried it).
There are some commercial formulations
available which include:
this is a tea i make to help motivate me for class, i usually brew it and bring it to class with me in a big thermos. I have 6 hour studio classes that require a lot of focus, creativity, innovation and hard work. So this brew is aimed for those heavy work days when you need that extra boost of mental power.
Materials Needed:
3 partsGreen Tea
1 partBlack Tea
½ partRosemary
½ partMint
½ partOrange Peel
¼ partRose Petals
boil water then while focusing on your intent pour the water over herbs, let steep. sweeten with honey to taste for a nice extra boost.
I never measure out exact proportions for my recipes or spells, I
always wing it- I use those teeny brown apothecary bottles that my
essential oils come in in the first place, so using that as a recipe
size, I use about five drops per oil, and fill it the rest of the way
with my carrier. Here we go:
Ginger oil (ironically, I can’t stand the smell of it, so I put in a little less than the others)
Patchouli oil
Frankincense oil
Basil oil
Cinnamon
A little crushed dragon’s blood
Olive oil as a carrier
*optional: A quartz point small enough to fit in your vial
Shake
that little fucker up, focusing on your intention. Use it to dress
candles, dab (very subtly, it stinks a bit!) somewhere on you for job
interviews, etc etc
This powder is ideal for drawing luck, money, and job opportunities. Sprinkle some of it into a burning candle, dust some over your body before going out or add some of it to a hot bath.
Grind & Combine:
Green or white Eggshells for prosperity and fortune
Basil for wealth and success
Green mint for money and abundance
Fennel for luck
I’ve used this powder spell for almost a year now and it never fails me. Hope it can help you all too!
Here is the promised spray to help keep shitty people away from you! Just in time for the holidays! I want to note that this is the first version I made, it isn’t a lasting spray and you would need to modify a few things for that effect. It works wonderfully as is for myself. The items used were chosen either for their magical properties, use as bug spray(which I mean, bugs are assholes so it went together well) or both. Enjoy and modify as you see fit!
Items needed
Spray bottle
Salt
Lavender
Pepper (crushed red)
Cloves
Mint
Food coloring
2 shot glasses full of water are the base, mixed in a microwave safe mug. Using from a herb shaker it was 1 shake salt, 1 shake crushed red pepper, 2 shake cloves, 3 drop mint oil, 1 shake lavender, 1 drop blue food coloring. Microwave for 1 min to heat and mix well. Smells like awesome.
After the mix is warmed and has picked up some energy from the microwave I charged it between a piece of snowflake obsidian and crazy lace agate under some frankincense.
Note that this will be an interesting tea color so do not spray it super close to any white fabrics unless you want to stain them. From far away it’s fine.
To use spray on self before dealing with potentially shitty people. Reapply as needed. Which for me goes in a pattern of before work then again on my lunch. I spray myself and my hands, but being that what I do with people all day directly involves my hands, it makes sense.
A side effect I’ve noticed of this is it also kills off some of the desire to be shitty to people who are just plain stupid acting but not assholes. Generally it just makes it easier to be happy!
