in PSA form I guess in case you want to make sure that your library/university is free of nazi recruitment dead drops:
-at Columbia University today a student working in the library found a book that was actually hollowed out with manila folders containing nazi recruitment forms (here’s the article on it)
-These forms had a version of the Third Reich eagle on the front and the word “DarkEn” (Dark Enlightenment) on the back. they asked for days of the weeks and times when interested students were available and had a list of “interests” that are all Nazi/fascist code words like “HBD” (human biodiversity), “The Cathedral” (nazi word for “the establishment”), “post-democracy”
-The book was Tess of the D’Urbervilles. it was shelved in the wrong location, among books about nationalism, westernization, and political science. I asked my friend who works for the campus news site if there was a call number and she’s pretty sure there wasn’t but it’s not clear. If there was a call number it’s illegitimate and was not searchable in the library database.
-be sure to check sections of the library on the Third Reich/German nationalism/nationalism generally and maybe shake books around/keep an eye out for books that are out of place thematically or don’t have a call number. even if this is just a tactic that Nazis at Columbia are using it’s better to be hypervigilant and stop Nazi organizing than to do nothing
ALSO my friend’s boyfriend found recruitment posters that didn’t have overt Nazi imagery but had the word “DarkEn” for “dark enlightenment” on them in the men’s bathrooms in engineering buildings. keep an eye out for stuff like that, it’s not isolated and even if it’s covert it’s Nazism
also if you find one of these dead drops by any chance maybe hold off on reporting it because they’ll change their drop tactics and see if you can stake out the location with a baseball bat to beat up the next nazi who comes along
we need to start watching them and understanding how they operate
if you’re white, this is where the ally thing can come in- sign up, meet the members and then report them ALL.
uh don’t do that last thing unless you know what you’re doing because nazis are totally fine with killing antifa and you can’t be an accomplice against white supremacy if you’re dead
but yes
