Right now I’m at that little sweet spot of “I’m working hard enough to be exhausted, but it’s just below full time, and they don’t pay me enough to save up enough money to support myself come Student Loans/move out time” so I’m looking for another job, right? I apply for some pharmacy tech job in hopes that it’ll be a little bit more, and I breeze through the interview and get offered a full time position at the same rate of pay that I’m getting now. During the interview we discuss why I’m looking for another position, due to the fact that I can’t support myself at part time. Relevant.

I decide to decline based on the fact that due to their union fees, I would actually be making the same amount of money at full time that I am at part right now, and I’d like to stay with a company more than a few months for once now that I’m not restricted by the whole summer job window.

So I get the official job offer Email from their HR and the offer is for PART TIME. I blow a fucking gasket. There’s a “why have you said no” part in the rejection line and I give them a full but polite explanation.

The manager still fucking calls me this morning, on my day off, while I’m sleeping, to ask me the same GODDAMN question. “Why??”

Um, because no, and also you lied and made it clear that if I had taken your offer you were going to take advantage of me, like every other retail company, so go fuck yourself?

What an asshole.
