Reading about Congress bills can be dry, so here’s a quick thread on the eight bills (among 2,000 – according to Al Jazeera English) introduced since Trump took office in January.

I will update this post with a link explaining each bill – which has far-reaching and devastating consequences for Americans, especially low-income Americans – in a very short bit.

Here is a brief description of each bill in easy-to-understand language.

holy shit. ohio just passed a bill to make abortions illegal after the fetus’ heartbeat can be detected, which generally occurs around 6 weeks in. for context, most women don’t even find out that they are pregnant until they have missed two periods, usually 6-8 weeks in. the lawmakers cited donald trump and his expected supreme court appointees likely support of such legislation as their reason for considering the bill now.

It seems pretty hopeless for us here in “the heart of it all” state, but technically John Kasich has not signed this bill yet! If you’re an Ohio resident like me, there’s still time to call him at (614) 466-3555 and to send an email to him at http://www.governor.ohio.gov/contact/contactthegovernor.aspx telling him to VETO HB 493!!!

This is terrifying.

This is the Memorial to the Missing and contains over 50,000,000 pennies to represent the lives of each American child abandoned to abortion by a society and a culture that has embraced their destruction. We must prevent the need to add to this memorial. Take a stand. Get involved.

“should I use this $500k to help struggling parents and pregnant people or should I put it in a glass box”

“money that can be useful for victims of rape and abuse is sitting in a glass box to remind us how we care more about the ‘lives’ of unborn fetuses than the lives of homeless children”
