“I Had To Be Around Toxic People For Way Too Long” energy cleansing scrub. (Also titled: “Fuck My Abuser” or just “Energy Reset Body Scrub”)

So. I literally had to be around so many toxic people from my hometown this weekend. Including my mother, who literally hugged me during the communion portion of the ceremony and ran crying out of the reception just because I said “not right now” to her giving me a hug and saying hi. 

A lot of my energy shut down as a result. (I can’t really communicate with/sense my spirit companions if that gives you any indication of how badly my energy was injured by all the negative energy and toxicity that came my way.)

BEHOLD. ENERGY RESET SCRUB

I added a lot of ingredients that I associate with cleansing and healing/protection. Modify as needed. 

Ingredients:

  • Sea salt
  • Epsom salt
  • Baking soda
  • Wormwood powder (this is intense, do not use if pregnant or trying to become pregnant. Lots of alternatives to this.)
  • Angelica root (one of my fave protection herbs)
  • Sage
  • Activated charcoal (this costs like $8 at Walmart. It comes in capsules that are really easy to open. Also, it’s really good for your skin. Please do not use random ass charcoal from your fire pit or the grilling aisle.)
  • Coconut oil (or any other carrying oil of your choice)
  • Lemon essential oil (or just plain lemon juice. I happened to have an essential oil on hand that was a blend of lemon, lemongrass, and eucalyptus.)

Mix all of this together. Charge it up however you prefer to charge items. Take a nice hot shower and rub this mix all over your body. (I even put some on my head lol.) As you scrub, think of what you’re cleansing away, what you want to draw out of you and get rid of. Rinse off, and then was your body/hair as you normally would. 

Like I said, it’s an intense scrub for an intense situation. You can always modify it if you want to make this to make it slightly less intense.

18-24 year olds in particular, I’m calling you! There’s an unverified stat that only 36% of us voted in the EU referendum and that’s bullshit. This is a huge decision that’s going to affect everyone in the country hugely, far more so than most other general elections, so PLEASE DON’T BE APATHETIC AND VOTE!!

Why you should vote

  • This election is going to have a huge impact on Brexit negotiations
  • ‘The Tories are going to win anyway’ by not voting against them you only make them stronger
  • ‘I live in a safe seat it doesn’t matter’ This will tell you how to vote tactically!!
  • ‘I don’t like any of the candidates’ then spoil your ballot paper!! write fuck you on it or something it might be quite therapeutic. They count the protest votes so at least that way you’re telling people you don’t like the system as opposed to just seeming like you can’t be bothered

How to register

  • Head over to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
  • Things you need: National Insurance number. And like your name and stuff but that’s the only tricky one it literally takes 5 minutes to sign up
  • Oh and if you’re a brit living abroad you need your passport
  • ALSO IF YOU’RE AT UNI YOU CAN REGISTER TO VOTE AT HOME OR UNI!!! This website tells you whether your vote will count for more at home or uni

the Trump administration’s proposed budget plan for FY18 includes cutting all funding for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) which is….. bad. I’m my library system, IMLS pays 11% of our total annual budget, which doesn’t sound like much, but in a lot of rural areas or states without as much state-level support for libraries, IMLS is responsible for the bulk of their operating costs and loss of this funding could mean the complete closure of central branches and loss of library resources for entire communities

I talk about this a lot on here, but libraries aren’t just free books – they’re a crucial service for under-served communities, they provide job search assistance to job seekers, crucial early learning and literary skills to kids, they provide information and access to people with no other way of getting them, they provide free internet and computer access, a free and safe place to be for homeless people, for teenagers after school, for families who can’t afford expensive daycare, and many of them provide free lunches for kids in the summer who aren’t getting lunch because they aren’t in school, and countless other things

there are so many communities out there who cannot afford to lose this funding and to lose the support that their libraries provide

go read about this. go call your senator. America’s pretty fucked up right now, but if we’ve done one thing right, it’s libraries, and we can’t afford to lose them
