Today is a day of action for net neutrality–the principle and the law that means Internet service providers must treat all content equally, without “fast and slow lanes” or “bonus premium content.” This is absolutely key to freedom of online expression, and is basically the reason YouTube is so much more diverse and interesting than your average cable channel.
There is no reason you should be opposed to net neutrality unless you are a major telecommunications corporation. (If you are a major telecommunications corporation, unfollow me now ~uwu~)
But despite widespred public support for net neutrality, it’s currently under threat. For more information and to contact the Federal Communications Commission to advocate for net neutrality, go to these sites:

One of the less talked about forms of sport/trophy hunting.
Shark fishing tournaments target the largest members of shark populations, often playing off sharks’ bad reputation to entice more people to join. Prizes for killing the largest shark are often in the thousands. It sends an horrible message. So long as large companies like Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Home Depot continue to sponsor these tournaments, they’re unlikely to stop anytime soon.
“Would Toyota South Africa have sponsored a tournament where if you killed the biggest lion you get a new Toyota Tundra? They would never, ever do that. Why is it that we are in a situation where what happens offshore, what happens in the oceans, that’s OK?” – Lewis Pugh, UN Patron of the Oceans

I don’t normally reblog things like these on this blog, but this is very serious. There’s plan for another protest on the 12 of July which I plan on being part of.
