dog: [immediately stops what he’s doing and looks up at me expectantly]

Me: ….oh my god that’s what they actually call you at home isn’t it

I happened to be in the lobby when this dog’s owners came to pick him up, and when he was acting all a fool, I said “come on, Mr. LaForge, show some dignity” and the owners were like oh thank god someone gets the reference!!

I told them the story of this interaction with their dog and, apparently, that is what they call him at home. Specifically, it’s what they call him when he’s in trouble.
