Walking backwards, or in someone else’s shoes, while clever tricks (and sometimes handy *wink*), are still forging a new way. All roads lead forward. No step you take is ever a step ‘backward’. As long as you still breathe and walk and choose your direction, you have never fallen behind, never backtracked. Run if you like – run to challenge the wind, run to deliver a message, run to aid others, run to meet your destiny – but don’t try to run to ‘catch up’ or to try to return to a place you’ve been before. You weren’t behind, and that place has changed.
