Shark fishing tournaments target the largest members of shark populations, often playing off sharks’ bad reputation to entice more people to join. Prizes for killing the largest shark are often in the thousands. It sends an horrible message. So long as large companies like Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Home Depot continue to sponsor these tournaments, they’re unlikely to stop anytime soon.
