Why are you okay with animal sacrifice though?

It’s not my place to criticize animal sacrifice. It has an ancient history and is vitally important to loads of people’s spiritual practices all over the world, particularly to groups which have been dealt the shit end of global politics. I don’t *like* it or wish to practice it myself, but I don’t see why it’s more offensive or objectionable than an inefficient and abusive meat industry. If you’re going to kill an animal, I’d rather you do it out of deep spiritual significance than for sport or because you want to hang its head on your wall. I am personally inclined towards vegetarianism and wish to see humanity as a whole switching to more eco-friendly diets, but the amount of resources animal sacrifice uses up are much smaller than the demand for hamburgers or chicken nuggets.
