holy shit. ohio just passed a bill to make abortions illegal after the fetus’ heartbeat can be detected, which generally occurs around 6 weeks in. for context, most women don’t even find out that they are pregnant until they have missed two periods, usually 6-8 weeks in. the lawmakers cited donald trump and his expected supreme court appointees likely support of such legislation as their reason for considering the bill now.
It seems pretty hopeless for us here in “the heart of it all” state, but technically John Kasich has not signed this bill yet!
