Let’s remember that the company behind the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline did not delay construction when earlier asked to by the President. Construction could still go through, with or without federal government approval. The decision could be reversed after ‘considering alternative routes.’ Trump’s administration could approve it.

Remember that the President and the Army Corps of Engineers had months and months to make this decision and did not. Do not praise or congratulate them. They were cowards in the face of the people actually responsible – the Water Protectors, the protesters and the people who actively resisted the pipeline. NEVER give Leaders the credit. That’s how they subvert, recuperate, subsume and co-opt the work people on the ground actually do.This may not be over. Be prepared for that.
