today i almost replied on twitter to a like ~squeal at and pet every dog~ meme w/ like EXCUSE ME, FAKE DOG GIRLS, IF YOU WERE A REAL DOG GIRL YOU WOULD RESPECT THEIR BOUNDARIES but i didn’t do it but i am now still publicly sharing that impulse so where does that put me 

I am reblogging this to share it with a number of fake dog girl culture critical followers I know I have

IMPORTANT:

• ask owner if you can pet dog
• get down to small dog level
• if dog does not come up to you DO NOT PET
• seriously you can make a dog so unhappy if you force it
• do you want to make a dog unhappy you monster
• pet on chest and back not head
• (ear scritches ok if dog pushes head under your hand)
• friendly voice no screamos
• stop petting dog if dog turns/backs away
• do not keep owner standing there forever
• thank owner for privilege of petting dog

sometimes this means I cannot pet dog but I can feel good knowing that I did not scare dog or annoy owner. dog happiness > me getting to pet dogs.
