The one where someone was ripping the films saying things like how The Little Mermaid was essentially teaching little girls that their looks were the most important part of them, and that Belle had Stockholm syndrome- and someone set them straight with the actual messages of the films….
Because i just got out of the Beauty and the Beast live show, and the way they condensed it really reminded me that while Gaston SUCKED, was Beast really better? Yeah, yeah, tortured soul and all of that- but is it really wise to give little girls this fantastic, strong, intelligent, patient female character to look up to…and have her stand for a man who constantly lashes out at her in anger? And have them end up together because love conquers all? Doesn’t that just give them the message that it’s okay for a man you love to treat you like shit, because through your love and patience, “you can change him”?
I dunno, I want to know what that post said about it I guess.
