Hey everyone! I wanted to talk a bit about fitness witches and fitness witchcraft today. Some of you may have never heard of fitness witchery because there isn’t much out there about it. If you google ‘fitness witch’ you’ll most likely find some article about “Health Goths”.
Fitness witchcraft is a newer aspect of witchcraft that incorporates the spiritual with the physical. One of the key philosophies in fitness witchcraft is that your body is literally a temple. When you take care of it, you’re worshiping at this temple. Imagine all the possibilities of a well-maintained temple.
Squats, deadlifts, bench press: the holy trinity. Working out requires a lot of focus on form and coordination. Exercise can be performed as an act of meditation. As a way to gather energy. The more we workout, the more energy we can store for, not only daily tasks, but magick as well. I feel mentally clear when I workout, which is rare for me. Sometimes when I try to clear my mind to focus on casting or tarot or spirit work it can be nearly impossible. So lets talk about spell casting while working out!
I find glamours are one of the easiest things to do while I’m working out. There are mirrors all over the gym to check form and while I’m resting in between sets I’ll use those mirrors. I’ll look at things I don’t like about myself and visualize them fading away. (If you worship god/desses, you can ask your deity to improve your looks.) My sacrifice is sweat and the energy that I expend in the workout. By the end of my workout I feel amazing and I glow. What about curses? When you’re at the end of your workout, when you’re on your last set of squats, focus on this pain. Send it to someone else: “This pain I’m experiencing, you’ll experience 3 fold. This is my sacrifice.” Ground energy while you do pushups. Draw sigils for strength or speed on your body. Do you have a bad habit you’re trying to kill? Write it on you body, somewhere you’ll really sweat, and let its power over you weaken as you sweat it off.
If you’re interested in learning more about fitness witchcraft I’ll post the magick of supplements and a fitness witch starter list. Stay blessed everyone!
This is a really fantastic post, something I really relate to.
Remember everyone, witchcraft doesn’t have to be you cackling over a cauldron in a darkened attic; all that energy at the gym is yours to harness.
