the trickster with winged shoes,
wouldn’t we all like to be a god?

he is playful,
a thief,
a guide.

he is beautiful,
with a sharp tongue and a quick wit,
he loves his disciples.

he is sunshine on river rocks,
he is flowers in the winter,
he is the brightening laugh on your worst day.

songs are not sung for him,
for no reason.

this is a god,
who loves.

mighty messenger,
the most trusted of all the olympians,
So worthy is he to carry their secrets.

there is so much,
that we can learn from,
a light-haired god of the dark.
