Soooo, I’m confused. Is Hermes technically Ouranic or Chthonic? You know, with the whole underworld thing? Sincerely, a baby Hellenic :)

He’s technically Ouranic, but can be worshiped for his kthonic epithets 🙂
For example:
Let’s say you wanted to pray to Hermes for protection during travel. You would do so using an Ouranic style of worship since it has nothing to do with the Earth or the Underworld. But, if you wanted to pray to Hermes to ensure a recently deceased loved one makes it to the Underworld, you would be using a kthonic style of worship due to his epithet and title as a psychopomp 🙂
It is a bit confusing, I know.
