In my mind, that just makes it even more gross and nasty, right? Why are you supposed to toss it, does anyone know?
Mold can be very harmful to your own health! It can cause anything from mild respiratory discomfort to outright death, depending on the kind of mold and your own personal sensitivity. Its also toxic to pets and animals you may have around. More than that, if you keep it in a sealed jar, the living mold will breathe and respirate and eventually can make the jar explode (its rare, but it can happen) and you don’t need that kind of danger and negativity in your own life
So it’s mostly for healthy reasons instead of metaphysical? I’m allergic to mold myself….I guess sometimes I overthink it and try to figure out the magical reason rather than the good old “This could kill you”. Thanks!
