So I have been made aware of posts of people who find it offensive that witches sometimes say we are “in the broom Closet”. I understand how this can seem offensive to those who are currently in the closet. So I offer this Alternative for witches to say, we are not in the broom closet, but In the woods. When someone is in the woods, they could be hiding from something or someone. but it is still dangerous in the woods and can also be quite wonderful too. This idea comes from the saying “You’re not out of the woods yet.” meaning that there could me more trouble coming your way. Having to hide who you are is never easy and can take a lot out of someone, so there is my alternative. we are not In the broom closet, we are deep in the woods.
