Bad Omen written 25 July 2015
I am your bad omen.
I have crawled through houses,
covering your doorknobs with soot and leaving footprints of ash.
I am the embers of a forgotten fire.I am the knot that wrings your chest,
and the sparks that leave your fingertips numb.
I am the paranoia that bites your ear – always biding for your attention.I run dark circles under your eyes
and knead aches in your joints.
Yet you’ve never given me a name for fear of invocation.I am yours.
All yours.
All you.
I am your bad omen
