Fire Witch

The latest in my little series of witches. I love fire, the idea of the element and how so many stories use it to tie in with themes like courage and life. It’s by far my favourite element and when I was painting this I wanted to choose something that wasn’t unruly or dangerous. I wanted to depict a quiet, useful kind of fire, like the internal fire of courage or passion. A candle seemed the obvious choice.
