About For Artemis
For Artemis is a collection of devotional writing for/to the Hellenic Theos Artemis. It includes twenty poems, six of which have not been previously published or posted anywhere, and all of which have been revised for publication. It also includes information on the epithets and associations of Artemis. Here is a link to the Table of Contents.
here is a review of the book, written by winebrightruby, an accomplished poet and educator, whose opinion I value highly. If you buy it, please feel free to write and post a review! I would love to hear your thoughts.
Quotes from this review:
“I can’t speak highly enough of the variety in this collection – for a book so small, it covers so much.”
“…this is also an extremely useful devotional resource, since it includes multiple perspectives on Artemis’ roles, functions, and identity.”
“All in all, this is a great resource as well as an artistic achievement: I’d recommend it for anyone interested in reading beautiful work […] especially for anyone who worships Artemis or wants a source of poems/hymns for festivals or offerings to Artemis.”
Quote from a review by thecarvingwitch:
“… bravo. It was both unexpected and undeniably familiar. It harkened back to lost parts of my child’s heart and it made sense to me and my books now. I’ve got it on my altar.”
Quotes from a review by kitienen:
“…more factual content, like the local associations and epithets, are well-cited and explained.”
“…a lovely lovely book! I recommend it particularly for anyone who has a personal connection to Appalachia or the more rural parts of the east coast. It will be a great resource for me in the future.”
If you want to support me in writing more poems like these (x, x, x), and in paying for my education, please consider buying this book!
