Managing time for a college student can be tricky. Even though there are far more hours of free time in the day, chances are you have more responsibilities that take up that time.
Below are a list of different mundane and magical tips that every new or seasoned college witch should know!
☆
Plan: Lists will be your new best friend during college. To-Do Lists, Shopping Lists, Goal Lists, Ingredient Lists-so much of our lives can be organized into simple lists. Stop to take time to write up certain lists in order to keep organized. Otherwise, during a hectic day you may forget that it’s the full moon and thus the perfect night to perform that new spell you wrote.
☆
Set a Routine: Wake up the same time each day. Study each subject around the same time each day. Write in your Book of Shadows the same time each day. Determine daily goals that you need to accomplish, and assign times for each of those goals. That way, you’ll never have any surprises or worry about not getting everything done in time.
☆
Get a Good Night’s Sleep: While all-nighers are inevitable, try to limit them as much as possible. Try to avoid putting homework off until last minute, thus causing you to stay up unreasonably late. If you don’t sleep, you won’t have enough energy for work nor witchcraft.
☆
Avoid Procrastination: Break up assignments over the course of the week. Don’t do everything on one day. Would you do a week’s worth of spells in a single day? No, you’d get burnt out if you ever tried that. The same will happen with your coursework. It may be an annoyance to write a tiny piece of your essay every day for a week, but you’ll be thanking yourself when you have time for yourself the day before it’s due.
☆
Set Long And Short Term Goals: Short term goal? Cast a motivation spell next Saturday night. Long term goal? Have a 3.98 GPA by the end of the semester. Set goals for yourself in a variety of different areas. Make sure to set goals that are reasonable and beneficial. The more goals you set and complete, the more productive you’ll be and the more fulfilled you’ll feel!
☆
Save Time For Hobbies: Witchcraft and coursework can be similar in two ways; both can take a large amount of time away from you, and both can be draining. In the course of your day/week, schedule time for other hobbies or self-care activities. Paint your nails. Watch your favorite show on Netflix. Read a book for pleasure. You’ll be grateful for this down time.
☆
Weave Witchcraft into Your Mundane Life: Draw motivation sigils on the corners of your notebooks. Keep an anti-procrastination jar on your study desk. If you worship deities, pray to your gods for help when you’re feeling overwhelmed or lost. It’ll make even your most boring homework more interesting.
☆
Make Friends: Join clubs and get involved with your college. If you go to a more liberal college, you might even be able to find a group of witches to practice with, if you don’t want to be solitary. Having friends, even non-witchy ones, can make college so much more fun!
